Venice

The city of Venice is devoted to art in all of its forms and is home to a wealth of museums and majestic buildings which contain works by renowned artists such as Jacopo Tintoretto, Tiepolo, Titian, Veronese, Bellini and Giorgione. It is easy to get to Venice from the Porto Turistico di Jesolo both by sea and on the land. A coach service will take you to Punta Sabbioni, which has a direct link to Saint Mark’s Square.
The Venice Biennale is one of the most important exhibitions in the world, and the city is also the location of the extraordinary Peggy Guggenheim Collection. With its “Malibran” and “La Fenice” theatres, Venice is the ideal place to enjoy classical music and opera. The musical splendour is enhanced by the superb natural backdrop, which has earned it a reputation as a city for romance. The famous Venice Film Festival takes place at the end of the summer each year.
Numerous traditional celebrations are held in Venice every year. One of the best known is the Carnival, which has ancient origins and fills Saint Mark’s Square with an array of exquisite masks. It reaches a peak with the legendary Flight of the Dove. Other traditional festivities include the “Regata Storica” (“Historical Regatta”), the “Festa della Sensa” (“Ascension Day Festival”) and the “Festa del Redentore” (“Festival of the Redeemer”).
